It’s one of the biggest challenges in a busy modern world – getting some exercise!

Why is it so hard to fit in the exercise our body needs? The human body is a running, hunting, digging, foraging, working machine that is designed to be exercised. We’re supposed to do physical work!

It’s one of the privileges of modern living that, for the majority of Westerners, we no longer have to rely on working long, hard, back-breaking hours in fields or hunting grounds to simply survive. Modern technology, industry and wealth have ensured that many of us barely have to walk a step or lift a finger compared to our predecessors. And often we don’t.

Sometimes it’s the thought of what ‘exercise’ means that demotivates us – it’s so easy to conjure up pictures of gyms and aerobics classes when the subject comes up, and for many people that’s a really unattractive option. Exercise or activity comes in hundreds of forms, and we’d like to give you some great ideas for fitting in all kinds of ‘activity’ into your life.
