Ashwaganda

Ashwaganda also known as Indian Ginseng, is the powdered root of a shrub which belongs to the same family as the tomato plant, and grows widely in India and the Himalayas. 

Ashwaganda is best-known for imparting strength and vitality. Whilst is strengthens, it also calms at the same time. Ashwaganda is a major herb in the Ayurvedic system of health and healing, which helps restore the natural balance of body, mind and spirit.

Use a quarter of a teaspoon daily, as this is all that is necessary as a maintenance dose.

Add it to any meals or drinks you choose, as it does not taste when taken in quantities this small. Remember not to cook with it though, as it will lose it's beneficial qualities.

Ashwaganda works brilliantly with Gingko Biloba, Maca and Cacao powder. Just mix together in a milk or water, add sweetener such as honey or a banana, and blend for a delicious, adaptogen smoothie! Fantastic for breakfast, or as a meal replacement.
