Product Information

Nutri-Health recommends this superior selection of quality teas and herbal teas from around the world. Whilst you may find similar at the supermarket, these teas are exceptional in their taste and quality.

Earl Grey tea is one of the all-time greats of the tea world - a delicious, aromatic and refreshing tea which is now available with the convenience of tea bags.

There are various stories about why this famous tea, scented with Bergamot oil is so called. They tend to involve one of the 2nd Earl Grey's servants making a daring rescue and a gift of tea to Earl Grey in gratitude.

In fact Indian tea, and later Chinese tea, had been scented with the oil of Bergamot - a citrus fruit a bit like an orange, for many years. It was however Earl Grey who popularised it by serving it to his guests when he was Prime Minister in the 1830s.

Nutri-Health has chosen a blend of Earl Grey which uses the finest Keemun tea from China's Anhui Province and Darjeeling, “the Champagne of Teas”, from India, infused with the finest quality pure natural Bergamot oil or Citrus aurantium subsp. Bergamia. (You may wish to be aware that the use of synthetic Bergamot is widespread and used in cheaper variations of this tea!)

Bergamont is a citrus fruit which grows in Italy; it is small and pear-shaped and is a cross between grapefruit and lemon. The oil is also widely used in aromatherapy to help with depression and skin disorders.

Simply make exactly like normal tea.

Put one teabag in a mug or pot per person and add freshly boiled water. Infuse for 2-3 mins. Drink black, perhaps with a slice of lemon or orange. You can add a small amount of milk if preferred, and honey to taste.

In our opinion, this blend is a perfect summer afternoon tea as it is refreshing and the Bergamot really lifts the spirits. Many people swear by it first thing in the morning.
